Dr. Alan J. Krause
Dr. Alan J. Krause grew up in Kansas and graduated in 1989 from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine as a “D.V.M”, (“Doctor of Veterinary Medicine”) after also completing a B.S in Agriculture prior to his graduation from veterinary school. Dr. Krause has owned, managed, and worked in both private and corporate veterinary practices large and small in North Carolina, Kansas, and Florida. Primarily a general practitioner who has cared for all life stages of family pets, over the years he has developed a passion for and special interest in veterinary dentistry, seeing in general practice how improved periodontal health can help a pet’s total health and quality of life.
Dr. Krause and his wife Brenda have 7 children, three of which are still at home with them. They love their role as grandparents which began in 2018. While some of the family are sometimes at work with him, when he’s not at work he enjoys activities with his family such as projects around their home and small farm, traveling, individual sports, ministry opportunities, and activities with his church fellowship, home school activities with his children and their homeschool community. Dr. Krause has been licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Florida for over 20 years, is federally accredited with the USDA as well as a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Marion County Veterinary Association. He has also been involved with Christian Veterinary Mission since graduation from veterinary school and helps lead a local ministry fellowship group for Christian Veterinarians on behalf of the Christian Veterinary Mission. Dr. Krause’s approach to life and veterinary practice is summed up in a personal mission statement he developed years ago, which along with the Veterinarian’s Oath he strives to live out daily in life and practice.
